What is Scorch 2 and how is it different from Scorch 1?

Scorch 2 is a full rebuild. Still built around real analog synths, but with a lot more room to actually design your own sound. You get two blendable sound sources, the raw waveforms behind them, a full sampler page, an effects page, and a built-in MIDI sequencer. Scorch 1's center dial evolved into the Chaos knob, with three macros underneath it (Bite, Space, and Motion) that let you tame whatever it does. Everything you liked about Scorch 1 is still here, it just doesn't hit a ceiling anymore.

Is Scorch 2 better suited to beginners or more advanced producers?

Both. Hit a chord and you get a usable sound right away, which is great if you're newer. But there's also raw waveforms plus a full sampler and effects page underneath, so producers who want to build sounds from scratch have room to do that too.

How does the Chaos knob work?

Turn it and it reshapes your current sound into something new, modulating parameters across the plugin in a musical way.

What do the three macro controls do?

Bite, Space, and Motion sit underneath the Chaos knob and let you tame what it does. Bite ties to cutoff and distortion — saturate one way, filter out the highs the other. Space ties to reverb and delay — max the sends one way, kill them the other. Motion ties to envelope and LFO speed — faster one way, slower the other.
